About Us
Camco’s Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management is an
internationally renowned analytical facility for carbon and
related eco-metrics. We focus on the analysis of greenhouse
gas emissions from corporate activities, product supply chains
and terrestrial ecosystems. Our analysis feeds into a wide
range of policy, management, investment and project development
decision making.
ECCM was founded in 1998 by a group of scientists from the
University of Edinburgh. In 2003 we joined specialist environmental
consultants ESD, who in 2009 became Camco - a leading international
climate change and sustainable development company. Today,
we provide Camco and other climate change businesses with
independent emission assessment advice based on internationally
recognised assessment standards (GHG Protocol and PAS2050).
The combined Camco Group has two decades of experience of
sustainable energy and climate change services working from
14 countries around the world.
As climate change has become a major economic concern, robust
metrics on greenhouse gas emissions has become essential for
policy development, investment decisions, corporate strategy
and project design.
We take a science-based approach to greenhouse gas and other
eco-metric analysis and maintain close links and collaborate
with the University of Edinburgh and Imperial College, London.
We have a reputation for high quality, evidence-based work
that is widely respected throughout the industry. By using
a team of dedicated analysts and our unique knowledgebase
of worldwide case studies and GHG factors we are able to provide
a faster and more cost-effective response than most other
advisory organisations.
